Specialized media has often referred to Playa del Carmen beaches as some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with their white sands and warm blue waters. Here, you can find the best conditions of consistent winds. Actually, it has twice held international tournaments such as the PKRA.
Kiteboarding is forbidden amid Playa del Carmen, but it is allowed in Playacar and Coco Beach. Both beaches are places only for experts due to the great number of tourists. Few kilometers south of Playa del Carmen is located one of our favorite beaches: Punta Venado, one of the last pristine beaches in the Riviera Maya, a perfect bay to do and learn kiteboarding. The best time for sailing is from November to June.
Dominant winds: NE, E, SE, and S. Respect to the beach: shore-onshore, side-onshore, sideshore. Best direction: NE, E, SE. Wind intensity: 10 knots- 20 knots approximately. Winds blow in the mornings, midday, afternoons and evenings, sometimes flat and choppy depending on the direction.

This is the place where all the hotels in Playa del Carmen are concentrated. It starts from the dock where ships depart to Cozumel, and ends in Hotel Sandos in Playacar. In this area, several all-inclusive hotels such as Sandos, Viva Maya, Viva Azteca, Riu, Allegro, and others are concentrated.
This is a bay that starts from Punta Esmeralda and goes until Canibal Royal. It is located just a few steps away from the 5th Avenue. The conditions are less choppy than Playa Car and with winds with direction SE. Here, little waves in the shape of kicker are formed, perfect for jumping.
